NEw Voices is a youth-led organization founded by forward-thinking young Nebraskans aged 14-26, with a commitment to increasing civic engagement and decreasing barriers for young candidates running in Nebraska.

We are taking OUR seat to the table.

About Us

Our Leadership Team

  • Cleo

Cleo is a recent Creighton graduate passionate about state-level health policy advocacy and research. As a fourth-generation Nebraskan, Cleo cares deeply about working towards a state that is welcoming and accessible for all. When Cleo is not advocating for better systems and knocking doors for candidates, she can be found watching reality tv and spending time with her cat Kurt.

  • Garrett

Garrett is a recent graduate of UNO passionate about civic engagement, public policy, and grassroots organizing. He's worked on statewide initiatives, coordinated digital and field operations, and conducted policy research in a legislative setting. Whether it's mobilizing communities, supporting progressive causes, or diving into data-driven research, he’s driven by the impact thoughtful, people-centered policy can have.

  • Lexi

Lexi is a recent graduate from Millard North High School and is heading up to Minnesota to attend Hamline University in the fall. As a young Nebraskan, she is constantly advocating for healthcare access and helping to elect more women to local Nebraska offices. When Lexi isn’t writing postcards or finding new ways to get involved, she can be found playing lacrosse and spending time outdoors.

  • Nora

Nora is a current junior at Omaha Central High who is tired of the lack of young representation in our national and state politics. She joined NEw Voices to make a positive impact on Nebraska and remain politically active in a constantly changing climate. In her spare time, she enjoys reading murder mysteries and baking cookies.

  • Owen

Owen is a current student at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, studying Urban Technology. Owen joined NEw Voices because he needed to find a community of like-minded young people working to promote inclusivity and equal representation in Nebraska politics. Other than politics, Owen is passionate about sustainability, theater and music performance, and public transportation, and he loves Taylor Swift.

  • Tessa

Tessa is a current Senior at Omaha Central High School. She joined NEw Voices to become politically active and advocate for the kind of positive changes she wants to see in Nebraska. In her free time, she enjoys music, Agatha Christie movies, shopping, and playing with her dog.

Nya is passionate about environmental issues and the arts as a whole. In their free time they like to play and listen to music, draw, and be around friends.

  • Scout

Scout is a senior at Omaha Central High School. It’s hard for them to watch their country continue in this manner, so they’re hoping to get people excited about civic engagement and natural rights so we can turn this around. In their free time, they can be found watching movies, scouring vintage shops, and hiking.
