3/30/26 Lincoln City Council Meeting
This week's city council meeting was short and sweet. We saw two liquor license votes and the vote on ADU regulation changes!
Standard renewals and updates were voted on and didn’t require a separate conversation.
Firstly, liquor licenses. A well-loved diner, Perfect Diner, and Big 8 are now under new management, and have both been approved to serve alcohol! Glosse Nail Lounge was also approved to serve alcohol. Make sure to support local Lincoln businesses, and check these ones out!
Last week, lots of changes were proposed for the Accessory Dwelling Unit, or ADU, regulations. Changes to regulations involving property size, height, setback limits, floor area, short-term renting, and floor area were all approved. These changes are going to make affordable housing much more accessible in Lincoln. Before the regulation changes, only about 24% of properties in Lincoln could qualify to even have an ADU, and now that the changes have been approved, around 80% of lots can qualify to have an ADU. These changes will directly affect the youth in Lincoln, giving them so many more options for affordable housing.
