4/6/2026 Lincoln City Council Meeting
Similar to last week, this week's meeting was short and to the point. It dealt with standard policy renewals and applications.
The renewal section covered reappointing Jacqelyn Miller to the Lincoln-Lancaster County Board of Health and reappointing Vance Behrens to Building Code of Appeals. The first one received a 6-1 vote, with the whole council voting yes, except Tom Duden. The second one was voted yes unanimously.
Next, there were two recommended liquor license approvals! Glacial Till Vineyard and McFarland Family Farms both applied for a special designation license for their areas at the Haymarket Farmers Market when it is in season. The council recommended approval for both of these! In the same vein as liquor licenses, Lucas Bell from The Pickle Bar applied for a zoning rule change because the current zoning rules affect his ability to sell liquor on-site. The court voted yes, 7-0.
Oxford House in Lincoln is the “golden standard” for addiction recovery. They applied for a Reasonable Accommodation; they wanted to be able to house 8 unrelated people in Hanses House, which is a smaller recovery house under the Oxford House umbrella. They also wanted to reduce the parking requirements of the property, considering most people at Hansen House don't have vehicles or just prefer to use public transportation. The council voted, and the outcome was a 6-1 vote, with Duden being the one opposing vote.
Lincoln’s last few meetings have been short and sweet, but packed with information. Check in next week, or on our social media pages for more updates about your city council!
