Campaigns are won with money.

Large sums of money are being donated to campaigns that do not affirm the lives of young Nebraskans. For example, two ballot initiatives were on the 2024 ballot that would have either protected or restricted the right to abortion. Between both initiatives, approximately $25 million were donated, with one particular family donating at least $5.1 million of that amount. With one family being a major funder in our elections, young people are left without an equitable voice in elections.

Financial support for young candidates is essential for the current political scene. Without financial endorsement, candidates may be unable to run a successful campaign. With the ability to endorse young candidates, we can change the makeup of who represents us and the legislation being introduced.
